“I am pleased to congratulate Mayor Fisher and the City of Pompano Beach on being awarded a $4.3 million loan guarantee by HUD to make important improvements to local roads. These investments will greatly benefit the residents of Pompano Beach and go a long way in reducing traffic, addressing chronic flooding, and improving pedestrian and motorist safety.
“Programs like the Loan Guarantee Assistance Program are important resources for communities like Pompano Beach. By guaranteeing loans with reduced interest rates for revitalization and redevelopment projects, these investments help towns and cities across America create jobs and stimulate economic growth.”
The funds will be awarded under Section 108 of the Housing and Community Development Act of 1974 and go towards repairs on six streets in Old Pompano, including water, sewer, signing and pavement markings; new landscaping and irrigation; lighting; and reclaimed water utility improvements.
