Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) made the following statement on the tragic automobile accident involving a van of parishioners from the Independent Haitian Assembly of God in Fort Pierce, Florida:
“I am deeply saddened by the deadly church van crash that took place in Glade County earlier today. My thoughts and prayers are with the families and friends of those who lost their lives and were injured.
“I want to commend the rescue personnel and local authorities who responded to the crash for their efforts to assist those injured and prevent further loss of life. As we wait for additional information to emerge, let us keep in our thoughts with the victims and their families at this most difficult time.”
