Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) released the following statement announcing a new shared-space agreement between members of the Palm Beach County Congressional Delegation to the United States House of Representatives at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Medical Center at West Palm Beach, Florida (VAMC-WPB):

“I am pleased to announce the creation of the first-ever shared space agreement with the VA, at our very own Medical Center in West Palm Beach, located in my Congressional district. This agreement was nearly a year in the making, and I am deeply appreciative of the VAMC’s willingness to open their doors and share their space with us,” said Congressman Hastings. “This agreement between VAMC-WPB and Members of the Palm Beach Congressional Delegation will ensure that veterans across Palm Beach County have access to their Representative in Congress, while visiting the VAMC. I am here to serve my constituents in any way I can, and look forward to utilizing the VAMC to better serve members of our community.”

“The West Palm Beach VA Medical Center is proud to partner with our Congressional offices on this endeavor. Through this shared office space agreement we will enhance transparency and increase collaboration to provide Veterans with the best care and services possible,” said Mrs. Donna Katen-Bahensky, Medical Center Director of the West Palm Beach VA Medical Center.

“Today’s announcement marks a historic day in which a bipartisan Congressional delegation comes together for the sake of helping veterans in our community,” said Congressman Deutch. “This new shared office will enhance our veterans’ services by directly linking our district staff with the West Palm Beach Veterans Affairs Medical Center. It is my honor to serve these veterans and make sure they receive the support and benefits they’ve earned.”

“Women and men who have served our country should be given every opportunity to live healthy productive civilian lives and retire in dignity as they age,” said Congresswoman Frankel, mother of a United States Marine war veteran.  “In addition to these new office hours, my staff has always been available to help veterans with a dedicated veterans issues caseworker. I encourage my constituents to reach out at any time.”

“Opening the first-ever Congressional office inside a VA facility is a big bipartisan win for our area’s veterans so they can get the help they need, when they need it,” Congressman Mast said.  “I want to say thank you to my West Palm Beach area colleagues – Congressmen Hastings, Deutch and Frankel – who worked with me to fulfill this promise I made to our veterans.  Let’s get to work!”
