Congressman Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) made the following statement on the passing of Coral Springs Mayor Walter “Skip” Campbell:
“I was deeply saddened to learn of the passing of Mayor Walter “Skip” Campbell Tuesday evening. Skip spent a lifetime working for our community, as a member of the Florida Senate and Mayor of Coral Springs. He leaves behind a legacy of dedicated public service.
“Skip was known to be an astute problem-solver. He championed compromise for the good of our community and always had his sights set on pursuing justice. Coral Springs and all of South Florida is better because of his leadership.
“I offer my sincerest condolences to Skip’s wife, Lynn, his two children, son Daniel and daughter Christina, and his three grandchildren, Alex, Aaron and Leo, during this time of great sadness.”
