Hastings and Schweikert Condemn Suicide Bombing Attacks in Tunisia

Representatives Alcee L. Hastings (D-FL) and David Schweikert (R-AZ), Co-Chairs of the Congressional Tunisia Caucus, made the following statement regarding the suicide bombing attacks which took place this morning in Tunis, Tunisia:

“We were saddened to learn of the horrific suicide bombing attacks that took place in the Tunisian Capital this morning. We offer our sincere condolences to the families of the victims and our deepest sympathies to the people of Tunisia. Terrorism cannot be allowed to take hold anywhere. We all must unequivocally condemn these terrorist attacks as the heinous and cowardly acts of violence that they represent.

“We continue to stand shoulder to shoulder with Tunisia during this time of grief. As Co-Chairs of the Tunisia Caucus, we remain steadfast in our support for the Tunisian people and will continue our work to ensure their safe and democratic future.”

Congressman Alcee L. Hastings serves as Vice-Chairman of the House Rules Committee, Chairman of the U.S. Helsinki Commission, and Co-Chairman of the Florida Delegation.
